The Phillies have announced that Vance Worley was recalled from Triple A so that he can start in Seattle on Saturday. In response the Phillies designated J.C. Romero for assignment giving them 10 days to trade, release, or give him the opportunity to join the Minor League squad.
J.C. Romero will be paid his full $1.35 MM this season regardless if he accepts a minor league assignment or not.
Romero was 0-0 this season with a 4.11 ERA.
The Phillies also announced the signing of RHP Tim Redding to a Minor League deal. Redding has a career 3.01 ERA against the Phillies in 14 games.
