The Eagles have traded HB Mike Bell to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for HB Jerome Harrison.
Bell signed with the Eagles as a Restricted Free Agent from New Orleans in 2010. Bell was said to be a good third down running back and could be a good back behind LeSean McCoy. Injuries and lack of production has lead to Mike Bell being traded from the Eagles to the Browns.
Enter Jerome Harrison. Harrison is 27 years old, 5 foot 9 inches and 205 lbs. Harrison was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2006 draft. On December 20, 2009 at Kansas City, Harrison brokeJim Brown's single game rushing record for a Cleveland Brown running back with 286 yards and three touchdowns, placing him third on the all time single-game rushing yards list behind Adrian Peterson, who had rushed for 296 yards and three touchdowns against the Chargers in 2007, and Jamal Lewis, who had rushed for 295 yards and two touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns in 2003. He maintained that form through the end of the regular season, rushing for 561 yards and 5 touchdowns in the last three games.
Harrison will be a great compliment to LeSean McCoy for the remainder of the season.
Harrison is also in the final year of his contract and there is no word on if he will sign long term with the Eagles.
